I was the only UX designer at Ragnar Relay from February 2017 to November 2019. My goal at Ragnar was to create experiences that help people connect with others running the race and reach their full fitness potential alongside their teammates. My focus was to design technology that alleviated pain points throughout the entirety of the Ragnar experience. I was able to handle both high-level vision concepts as well as detail-focused implementation. Because I was the lone UX designer at Ragnar, I really enjoyed being able to utilize my full range of visual design and user experience skills as a hybrid designer responsible for the design of all our digital products that require an interaction with a user. This role included the following phases for various products:
product/feature ideation
design discovery
visual designs (graphics + flow)
delivery to developers
QA delivered product (recently we got a QA team as a part of our outsourced dev team so my role in QA has decreased significantly)
Iteration
Products I have worked on during all phases of the product and that I was completely in charge of the design include two versions of our domestic app, our international app, the race page, a team management system, a new product offering revolving around team challenges, an event calendar, a stand alone photos platform that is now integrated into the app, our registration, and various other projects. I also worked on a stand alone live tracking app for our runners and a couple other components to the app that have since been put on hold. The designs shown here on this page are just pieces of said projects to give an idea of what I have done at Ragnar.
